Default $4300 in dealer repairs... overcharging?

I've got the following in repairs quoted to me from the dealership on my S4. I'm wondering how off-base these pricese seem, and whether I should be going to a private shop instead.

Two front tires
Parts - $529.00, Labor - $57, Total = $586.00

Right side inner cv boot
Parts - $65.00, Labor - $312.00, Total = $377.00

Right and left valve cover gaskets, vally pan gasket, oil filter housing seals and two intake gaskets leaking oil.
Parts - $283.00, Labor - $1,388.00, Total = $1,671.00

Control arm bushings, right
Parts - $65.00, Labor - $229, Total = $294.00

Upper Guide link bushings, all
Parts - $200.00, Labor - $618.00, Total = $818.00

All wheel alignment
Labor/total = $212.00

Transmission fluid replacement
Parts - $150.00, Labor - $151.00 – Total = $301.00

Audi dealers charge big bucks. Find a good independent shop. Most of those repairs aren't that difficult, and a decent independent should be able to perform them for a more reasonable price.

The tire price seems high, but then again, I don't know what you are running.

Two front tires

Depending on the tires, this is about normal cost.

Right side inner cv boot
Parts - $65.00, Labor - $312.00, Total = $377.00
About right

Right and left valve cover gaskets, vally pan gasket, oil filter housing seals and two intake gaskets leaking oil.
Parts - $283.00, Labor - $1,388.00, Total = $1,671.00
I don't understand why engine work on the 4.2 at Audi is so expensive but it is. This would have been cheaper if you searched and trust the mechanic.

Control arm bushings, right
Parts - $65.00, Labor - $229, Total = $294.00
Average

Upper Guide link bushings, all
Parts - $200.00, Labor - $618.00, Total = $818.00
High on labour.

All wheel alignment
Labor/total = $212.00
My Audi mechanic (an ex-Audi employee) charges $88

Transmission fluid replacement
Parts - $150.00, Labor - $151.00 – Total = $301.00
Way too high.

The questions is, did all this work need to be done and how much can you comfortably do on your own?
