Default Very nice! But little confused...

I always thought that getting the RS4 would be a recipe to fix my obession with mods. For one I have spent more money on mods than the RS4 costs... so it would be a good deal.

But modding RS4... I really think that I would have started with the S4.... but then... what do I know.

Default That is not what I said Bob. BTW, do you know of anyone personally that went to that event?

I know several people who did and Audi had quite a few technicians replacing brakes, bleeding brakes and replacing tires at a pretty good clip throughout the whole event.

This constant maintenance I am sure helped quite a bit. Brakes fade because they overheat and the fluid boils which gets air in to the fluid. If you bleed the brakes often and replace pads/rotors often then you are much less likely to see any fade.

I can get three, two day events on my Alcon set up while driving hard. Same rotors, same pads, same fluid. I can, in no way do the same with my RS6 which I might add is only about 200lbs more then the RS4.

Have YOU ever tracked a car? If so how many times? At what track? Which cars? How were they set up?

You don't need to drive a competition car to need the Alcons. I speak from experience, do you?

Here is my wife and her S8 at an ACNA Laguna event, my brother in laws 92 S4 is in the next bay. My RS6 is right behind my wife S8.

I then went to my B5 S4 for tracking

Here is my wife tracking her S8 which we change the pads/rotors and fluid after every event. She has also have had brake fade on several occasions even with the race pads/fluid we switch out for each event.

BTW, nicely done on insulting people in the forum, "have more money than sense"

Bob, I don't know what your problem is but you seem to be very combative and I can't quite figure out why.

Audi makes some fantastic cars which I truly enjoy. There is nothing wrong with seeing if they can be made a little better and suited to ones preferences or needs. My wife and family enjoy participating in the ACNA events, so much so that we became instructors with the club. I hope sometime in the future you have a chance to experience these amazing cars in such an environment.

Default Come on Tomas.... you know better.

You can always have a little fun and try and improve or make the car suited more towards your needs or wants:^)

Default you're speaking from experience with a RS6, not RS4.

my only point was that I haven't seen anyone complain about the RS4 brakes in track environments (non-competitive). if they have, let them step forward.

this isn't combative. combative would be if I threatened to shove a bayonet up your ***, which i'm not.

Default Same caliper and rotor but different hat. So the comparison is really not that far off.

Also, if there is anyone on the board who would like to come out to the Infineon ACNA event in November and have some fun. Please do, it is a great time with some teriffic people.

Default if you're just looking at the brakes alone, yes.

but there's a car attached to the brakes that creates the difference....and there's more to it than just the weight, you know that.

i'm not doubting the alcons were an appropriate upgrade on the RS6 for someone who tracks regularly, but i haven't seen anything to indicate this is the case with the RS4. i haven't tracked this car yet personally, so i can only condense an opinion based on what I read. maybe when the weather cools off a bit...

Default the audi ceramics are almost double the price of the porsche ceramics.

$13K says Der Kimbo. that might be worth it, if it included a girl to take out my **** and hold it every time i pee.
