Random Misfire Under Load

Random Misfire Under Load
A6 4.2L
When I hit the gas especially uphill, as the car tops second gear I get random misfires. I had a friend connect the Audi OBDII scan tool and no codes or problems were found. Bought 2 coil packs and replaced all 8 coil packs in groups of 2. Can't find the problem. Anyway to test coil packs off the engine or other ideas?
