TT: 2005 A6 C6 2.4 wont start when engine is hot
Hi, i have a 2005 Audi A6 C6 2.4 and today i drove for almost an hour and a half and when i came back home i switched it off to realize that i parked to closely to the gate. I tried turning it back on to reposition the car but the car did not turn on at all. All of the electronics and mmi as well as the dash lights came on but when turning the key, the car would not start up or even crank, only a small click can be heard, nothing else. I left it there and came back to it 30 mins later and the car started up just fine so im assuming that the car did not start due to the engine being warm. Does anyone know what is causing this problem? The battery is only a few months old.

Could be the starter.

I’d check any associated relays with the starting system.
Just because you heard a click, the relay coil may still work but the actual contacts within the relay could be so pitted or scored that it’s no longer providing the starter with enough juice to turn it over.
Even if you meter a relay, you may get 12 VDC, but under a load, the relay contacts may not be able to deliver enough Amps for the starter to do any “work”
