Default Air Flow Meter Plate: Getting Fuel to the Injectors...

Background:
Spark = Yes
Fuel = Yes, but only at the distributor
Air Flow meter plate when opened manually sends fuel to the injectors however, When all my hoses in the intake track are hooked up and I crank, I'm not getting fuel to the injectors. I checked for play in the air flow metering plate and there is none. The resistance is the same when moving the air flow meter plate up and down manually (Bentley Manual said check this).

With no present vaccum leaks, what can cause the air flow meter plate not to open while cranking?

Is there a way to adjust the resistance (causing the plate not to open) on the air flow metering plate?

Any other thoughts?>

Greatly appreciated, thanks!

Try this but very carefully...get a friend and have him/her crank the motor over. Take a long, skinny straw or something similar and place it in the mixture adjustment hole. Ask your friend to crank the motor and see if it moves up while the motor is turning over. If it doesn't, then maybe the cam timing is off somehow.

I think I've been following this thread, but can't remember why this all started for you.

Default Vacuum test

Try disconecting the vacuum line that goes to the brake booster, and conncet a vacuum gauge to the manifold there (you'll need some reducers) and have someone crank it over, and see if your engine is pulling a vacuum while cranking. Let us know...

Not sure what the mixture adjustment hole is?

However, I know the plate isn't moving while cranking.

BTW I did a 10vt swap.

Default Check that big shaped hose under the fuel dist.

This hose can collapse under vacuum. It's dirty down there, the hose is black, check it in the daylight hours.

Have a friend try to start the car, while you watch that hose. If the hose is collapsed, it'll need replacement. BTW, check all of those shaped hoses/fittings behind the intake boot and ISV for the same degrading and failure. If these are bad, I think there's about 3 of em... they could be part if not all of the problem. If you've removed the Intake boot, and reassembled it, it's possible that you have forgotten to put on back on or something. I'd check that intake boot as well for leaks, while you're at it there.

'Course you could have a failed fuel dist.... have you run it out of gas?

Did you swap the airbox and all of the distributor/fuel metering set up as well?

Default Are you still running that long, dual intercooler set up??

Maybe try shortening the intake a bit for now and see if you can get it running? Just run a hose from the turbo to the igloo, eliminating the intercoolers/piping and see if you get things moving that way.

Default I already shortened the intercooler piping as much as I could.

By about 2 feet, but things didn't change. It was worth a try though. Thanks
