2013 Q7 TDI with towing package
Hi, I am new to the forum and have a question about the OEM tow package. I noticed on some Q7's that there is a blanking plate where the 7 pin connector should be. I obviously need an adapter of some sort so that I can plug the trailer wire harness in but my question is: Does the vehicle need to be coded to activate the trailer plug wire or will it work with the adapter ?
Thanks
Thanks

This is what I used. It's plug and play, too; and for considerably less money.

If you have the factory tow package, no coding is necessary; although, if you want electric trailer brakes, you'll need to find the plug up behind the dash to connect the controller.
