Default Strange problem with FL speaker

Hi, folks. Haven't been on the AW forum for a long while. Upgraded to RNS-E more than a year ago. Really happy with it. Great upgrade from the '03 Bose SII.

Earlier this year, I noticed that sometimes I lose sound in the FL speaker (in the door). Then, noticed that I can get the sound back right away by simply turning on the headlights. You're prob thinking, oh, that's a short in the dash of some sort. But, tapping around on the dash or the door doesn't get the sound back. Only turning on the headlights.

If the headlights are already on, then the sound might come back on it's own eventually...or not. But, I can always force it back on by turning the headlights off for ~15-20 secs, then back on and, voila, sound is back in the FL speaker.

So, I'm wandering about some sort of ground loop in the wiring. After all, I did the RNS-E installation DIY. Wasn't very complicated.

Anybody heard of this strangeness?

For what it is worth my 01 2.7 intermittently loses the FL speaker. Sometimes comes back after a lapse of 5-30 seconds. Or, if I change the volume it comes back. No idea why. Nor am I trying to figure it out. It will eventually fail and I'll be able to find the reason more easily.

Thanks, Clancy. I don't think changing the volume affects mine, but will check. Would be curious if yours will come back if you simply turn on the headlights (if there not already on).
