I could use some advice with a potential steering issue.
Whenever my car is sitting still and I turn the wheel left or right, I can hear a popping noise in the steering. It doesn't do it when the cars moving. Has anyone had this problem or know what it is? Thanks in advance!

Have someone turn the wheel while you lay under the front and listen/feel for the popping. Should be able to localize the noise to a certain area. Could be TRE, control arm, or sway bar link/bushing. If none of those then you need to dig a bit deeper and check steering rack joints/mounts and worst case steering rack itself.

I Found the Issue!
The front control arms need replaced. From what I can understand, there are four on each front wheel. To replace all of these is going to cost me around $1000. Is that about right? too high? too low? Thanks guys!

If your DIY then the cost of a complete kit to do everything is around $500-$600 for good aftermarket Meyle or Febi ones. OEM will be pricey. Lowers are expensive. Uppers are much cheaper.
If your having it done then $1000 would be about right for all of them(pinch bolt can be PITA), but again usually just do the bad one(s).

If you do it yourself they're something like $135 each from the dealer....a couple bucks for a couple pinch bolts.
Not particularly tough with air tools. Lots of videos online on how to dø it.
Lemfoerder is a ZF company that also provides OEM UCAs. Look around, shop around.
