HELP! Upright wipers! 04 A4
During my commute to work today I went to used my wiper and when it stopped it stopped short on the window a couple inches from all the way down. That bothered me so I clicked the single swipe and it stopped another inch or two up higher from the last swipe.. and so on ratcheting itself higher and higher. I figured what goes up must come down so since it was verticle I tried again and again to see if it would start going back down. It didnt. Now my wiper is stuck upright on my window (in hindsight 2 inches from bottom isn't looking so bad). Anyone have any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it? the wipers work fine, they just stop upright instead of at the bottom when they are not in use.
Thanks,
John
Thanks,
John

Its okay, I found out from a german mechanic that it is the window wiper transmission that went bad. I will confirm this when it is replaced and the problem no longer exists.
Thanks for always helping though

and post #9 in that thread it shows you what to adjust. It says if they are working fine but stopping in the wrong position it is not the motor.

Your welcome. I used this procedure when I had to repair mine because of the common problem of the linkage becoming stuck.
You should be able to pick up a tool for removing the wiper arm (see attachment) for around $10.00 at any parts store.
