Federal courthouse guards fawn over RS6
So I'm returning to my RS 6 from lunch in downtown Detroit when I see two wired plain clothes guys around an older man with a lawyerly look. I look up and discover my beast is parked in the front corner of a lot across Michigan Ave from Detroit's federal courthouse. Sharply dressed armed guards loom ahead.
"Excuse me, but I'm a retired reporter," I said, "and I'm curious: Is a big trial going on?"
"Not yet," one answered. Tomorrow, though, a local county prosectutor goes on trial. I walk to my car and one of the men slowly approaches.
"That's really nice," he said. "You like it?"
"Oh, yeah. I'm never giving this up."
"What is it?"
"It's an Audi with 450 horsepower and all wheel drive."
"450 horsepower? WOW!" The he asked & I mentioned twin turbo V8, which he relayed excitely to his buddy still on the sidewalk. Somewhere along the way I described the RS6 as sort of like a Corvette with a back seat.
As I left, the final flattery: "What is it, a 2006 or 07?"
Made my day!

IYou probably could have found a better comparison than a Corvette/back seat
What about a Cosworth...etc.....the limited amount in the U.S. Maybe as owners we should have a print out with specs....lol

Maybe beacuse a.) he is in Detroit and b.) they are courthouse security guards, he felt they could
better relate to a Corvette as opposed to a Cosworth?

Exactly. Cosworth would have been a fine discussion at a car meet ...
... but for the place & situation I was in, the Vette comparo seemed to work. I did mention limited production.
What sticks with me, in retrospect, is that these guys probably see some pretty fine cars. I'd guess a federal courthouse for nearly five million people sometimes draws top legal talent making big bucks ... and spending some of it on pricey wheels.
