Hi--will be taking my Q in for its 25K service in a week--and after driving a loaner (windshield repair) and my in-laws A5--am wondering if the ash tray cover is working correctly. Both of the other covers close very slowly, seems like they are hydraulically dampened or something (but neither was a Q5)--mine snaps closed--what does your do? Wondering if I need to ask the dealer to repair (just crossed the 1 year anniversary) or if that's just the way it is.

Put the "radio" in the CAR, SETUP, INTERIOR menu, whatever they call it, and scroll all the way down to ASHTRAY LID then select the speed you want it to close with. If you don't have that menu setting, you may need a software update with the VAG software to enable it.

Uh, no, really, it sounds like the "hydraulic" thing on your ashtray cover is busted. Mine does the soft-close business also. I'm tempted to trade with you.(G)

hmmm, I looked there and couldn't find it ;-)
It doesn't really bother me--and I'd rather leave it as is than have them tear into the console to fix--but I'll at least ask.
