RS4: Is it any competition for the M3? (X-Post)

One final note...
I don't mean to be insulting here, but may I suggest you unwrap your mind, take both cars(comparable) out at high speed test, and then be honest with yourself regarding which one feels more stable. Although, I suspect you have probably already done this.
When I got back into Audi 18 months ago, I test drove B5 A4/S4 and B6 A4/S4...extensive test drives, I might add. In both variations, I have to tell you that the B6 felt noticeably better at speed. It was buttoned down tighter and the newer components could be appreciated, even to the layman. The cars were stock, low miles. The two B5's had under 30k. This was in April-May 05. The B5's were both 01's, the B6's both 05's.
I wasn't seriously considering the B5 but wanted to drive it for comparison purposes. I wound up buying an 05 A4 1.8T(new)...mainly due to fuel mileage considerations. Although a perfectly fine car, and performed fine, I regretted not going for one of the remaining 05 B6 S4's that were still available new on the lots here.
Within 10 months I had traded up to an 05 B6 S4 with 6k miles. There are a few things that I don't like, such as the added weight and DBW, but it's still a very contemporary and new enough design, and performs flawlessly for the most part.
