But there seems an awful lot of sheet metal overhanging the front wheels.
Whats different in the Q7 engine bay than, say the toureg, which seems to have less overhang, with basically the same engines?
Its probably not helped by the color either.

Look at light silver below.
It is just the angle of shot. the front is quite short overhang less then two feet. It is actually quite the opposite as there is no corner sticking out at all. the car curves around from just in front of the wheel. Lights grill bodywok all curve, looks great in the flesh but it makes an optical illusion in fotos.
By the way none of it is sheet metal. It is all plastic (or whatever) back to the seam.
