Another high-mile 2.7T question
There's a 2002 allroad near me with 196k miles on it. Seller is a classic used-car place with NO previous history of the car, although it's touted as "pristine", with "no engine or tranny issues of any kind". Air suspension light is on, though.
So if this engine DOES run sweet, is there a good chance that the turbos are original, and even if they aren't, should I really worry about the condition of the turbos as long as they don't whine, and the intercooler hoses are relatively oil-free?
Same sentiment for the auto tranny; no history of TC replacement, so is it possible that the tranny is original, and if so, has it proven itself by now, and failure is NOT necessarily imminent?

You spends your money and you takes your chances.
The car would be more appealing with complete records, and without an air suspension light.
Even then, I have advised friends looking at allroads to consider the cost of replacing the suspension or turbos or tiptronic. Any one of these jobs could cost more than the car is worth.
It could be that you're just buying someone else's problem. See if the used car dealer will give you a one year warranty on drivetrain...

What is the installation time period for turbos replacement, 2 days? Do they have to drop the tranny
