That would only be (likely) true if comparing two sizes of same wheel style. Diff wheels have different spoke angle/size/shape/thickness/etc

It isn't just offset and diameter dependent, but also on how the spokes are shaped/cast on the inside and if they meet the barrel relatively vertically or in more rounded off way.

Audi OE wheels and front calipers have both also been contoured more closely back to at least when the high volume general use type design you tend to find on Audis became broadly used in the past 10 years. It allowed them to beef up brake sizing without always stepping up wheel diameters. Said another way, the typical two piston floating caliper front Audi design now has a very flat outer/upper shape (the part meeting the wheel barrel) and really hugs in close to the rotor, and the outer caliper corner is fairly rounded off. If the wheel isn't carefully shaped the same way on the inside, it may be that even with the same nominal "should work" type offsets and diameters, it may still not fit.

Yeah I was looking closer at my stock 20s today and they're even super close to the calipers at the spokes. That caliper is a fatty.

I have these on order for winter, I hope they fit:
