Default New York H-Sport SWAY BAR TEST DRIVE

Hey folks

I am considering purchasing a set of H- Sport Sway bars for a 98 1.8T. Looking for someone in New York City that has already made the purchase of these bars. Not looking for a speed test here with the test drive, only how much more nimble the car can become as a result of the upgrade. My goal is to see what realistic and safe cornering speeds can be obtained.

Justin, what do you figure is the change with your cornering speeds, onramp/exits? Posted speed versus improved speeds (with confidence) with the H-Sports?

Default basicaly....

the improvement was utterly amazing.
I did the sways before i lowered, i have a 1997 so there wasnt a sport suspension. I was able to gain 15-25 mph around 90 to 180 degree turns (like on-ramps and such), and probably could have gotten even more if i pushed harder (i kinda whimped out, my tires were a little worn at the time). and remember this was with NON-sport SUV-like stock suspension with about 100k miles on it. 16" 5 spoke sport wheels with 225/55-16 continental extreme contact with about 15% tread left. Just the bars alone made me consider not even lowering it.
I then got the 17" flik justice wheels with 235/45-17 falken ziex ze512 and that improved even more, id say 10-15% improvement, a few more MPH was possible (the tires arent wonderfull, fine for daily driving though)
a week later I installed vogtland springs and bilstein shocks. Now the car is stiff, yet comfortable. The only real limiting factor right now is the tires, next summer ill deff be going with MAX performance, not ultra high all season, and use dedicated snow tires on B6 sport wheels.
I also have had a snub mount almost since day one.
and ho[e to add an AWE DTS soon.

Default just a reminder

I had to buy new rear links also. if you plan on reusing the links get a torch to burn the plastic ring from the inside of the nut on links.
