Default key-less entry...stopped working ( both keys)

The doors do not lock or unlock key-less...all other functions work; start, stop etc.
Thanks for your help or suggestions.

Default Check your (car) battery...

Power management system knocks out keyless entry as your battery gets far down. Look at the battery level display in MMI and see what it says. If it is 10%, it is gone for sure. I don't recall from 10-50%. Below 50% is where it starts cutting back on non-critical items.

Battery is @ 100%
operated the car with the key in the ignition and the locks worked for a while. Pushed the stop button and again to engage the steering lock... message: "key not found" and the doors quit again !!!! ?

Have you checked the battery in each key?

Default key battery...

good point. just replaced the batteries in both key's. It was a two pack of Energizer CR 2032...
may have been in the store for a while. I will test and replace if necessary. The push button functions work well, trunk opens from 20+ feet with these batteries.
Thanks for your suggestion's!

Default Depending on the year of your car keys were recalled for intermitent failure problems..

This was in the 04/05 era of models. I don't have the tsb in front of me, but my dealer replaced both sets of keys for me because of this issue. It was real wacky too because it was intermitent. It would work minute and not the next.

Default Was this ever sorted?

This thread sort of drops dead in a similar way to most of the keyless entry grumbles and I'm wondering if the gremlin was ever found.

My keyless entry went on holidays completely about six months ago. From all features working perfectly to just fingerprint recognition working and nothing else. Both keys same problem, new batteries etc. Then last week it all came back. Well for 90% of approaches/departures anyway. Car battery has been tested and is ok, and MMI at 100%. A suspect connection somewhere?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. (04' A8L)
