Default H&R springs and Koni shocks are on, I've been driving too much to take pictures.

First impressions?... well worth the wait and money. Also I'm running "mount-savers". So far as I can tell everything is working very well together. After figuring out the spring orientation thing, the spacers for the strut mounts, and finally buttoning up the suspension with fresh nylock nuts, I was done.

The alignment is a little off and I plan on having that done this week.

But for those of you looking for a great spring/shock combo for the 20v cars I highly reccomend this one. Yeah the adjustables are spendy... and most likely impractical on the street, but I've already found myself tweaking the fronts to match the "middle" setting of the rears. Hopefully I'll get some pics soon.

After replacing 4 worn out strut mounts, 4 worn out struts, and 4 tired springs, the net "drop" from the previous state was just under 3/4" in the front and just over 3/4" in the rear. Published for these springs is 1.25, we'll see how much of that is due to failing strut mounts.

Default Quick question...

I'm about to do shocks as well, i was wondering how you removed the threaded cap that holds the shock in the tube? Big pipe wrench?

Thanks QuattroPwr for the picture!

Default Well I'm not proud of this but...

I used a pipe wrench. It put a couple marks in the surface but it worked well. The tool for that isn't something everyone has. I believe it shows the necessary tool in the Bentley. It looks like ----0---- with the middle having a hex shape to engage the inside of the nut.

Either way you do it, make sure it's tight, 89 ft-lbs is the correct torque.
