Nice! What did the downpipe do to the sound of the car? I am considering this mod but don't want to make my car any louder than it already is.
I had tha APR stage I ecu flash done but my car was sometimes sputtering at WOT (my wife noticed it too). The performance shop owner told me that he is starting to hear of other TT-RS owners report this problem, so I am going to try a different chip.
Have fun with the new mods.

The power increase from the APR flash is awesome. It made the car feel like an exotic. It's my bad luck that I got a car that experiences a problem with the flash. I had the same exact problem with a chip that I put in my 335i. Sometimes you just got to wonder.
I upgraded my sound system with a JBL amp, subwoofer and speakers and am about to have the Escort 9500ci installed. All that is missing is the upgraded ECU.

Possibly when you are in a higher gear at WOT?

Hello folks,
I have a 2013 Audi ttrs and I just had APR STAGE 1 installed. The car performed awesome, and the torque is very strong. I've noticed that when the engine's rpm is around 3000-3500 makes a rattling sound on the valve on a steady speed but when you accelerate it goes away. Is this normal? I'm just wondering if all ttrs' owner who had modified ecu exerience the same way.
By the way,I have the MSS Spring kit installed and I think this is the best thing I've ever done to my ttrs. The car rides superb and I can leave on sports mode all the time. The car looks lower (15 in.) and rides better. I though I'd share that .
More power to you all.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I was having second thought of returning the chip, now that I found out that it is an ongoing problem , I guess I'd .. . . Dunno yet. Isn't it bad for the engine to be doing that kind of noise from the engine valves rattling noise??
I usually avoid this noise by not reaching that rpm point (3000-3500) , pass that rpm , then it goes away.

They say it isn't an issue or a cause for concern. Even so, I hate the noise, it sounds sickly

According to APR, they think it is actually a variable CAM change they make, but they have yet to do anything about it. I have an ongoing argument/thread going on the other Audi/VW forum. Its 3 months in now without a resolve.

1-27-2014 when I have it it installed. I'm not a mechanic , but soon whatever making that noise, rattling ,knocking ,( cam, valves, etc) is going to wear out , two metals against each is other is producing that noise, that's not good.
Yeah , the car is definitely fast, but when it reach that rpm, sound like the engine is knockin. They need to do something, need some updates on this chip. They need some more long nights and long hours to do some more testing to get rid of this noise , I know they will........

Do you guys know if the cam noise issue is limited to the TTRSs under APR tune? I have searched for similar issues for stage 1 and 2 TTSs to no avail. I was planning to tune my TTS this spring but seeing TR's problem on another forum, and the response he got leaves me hesitant. Thx.
