Which one would you buy?
I've been lurking and posting here for a couple of years. I still want an A6 but haven't found "the one"...until now. My reason for trading my Infiniti coupe is, I am selling real estate now and need a sedan. I think the A6 is just what I want, love the looks and drive. I'm a little worried about the cost of ownership after experiencing the low cost Infiniti.
Anyway, I have three choices:
1. 2008 4.2 Quattro with 72K miles. It's a two owner CPO car that looks like it was well taken care of. Since it's a local CPO records are available. Condition/ride/drive 8/10 Price: $15900
2. 2006 3.2 Quattro 82K miles. It's a nice 2 owner car but spent 3 years in NY state (I'm in Texas) Has leather interior and NAV. Some records available. Condition/ride/drive 7/10 Price: $13500
3. 2006 A6 Quattro 92K miles. Base car, two owners. No records but dealer just replaced ignition wiring harness, new tires. Condition/ ride/drive 7/10 Price $12000.
These cars have all been on the respective dealer lots for months and the pricing has come down to where it makes sense for what I need to do/spend,
I'm leaning toward the '08 4.2 due to it being newer, lower miles, former CPO, condition and V8. I'd appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

out of the 3 options, it's not even a matter of choice, there is only one:
2008 4.2 Quattro
Get it and be happy with it. Due to the fact it's a 4.2, it will have more of the 'options' as standard and the 4.2 is just plain SWEET.

I've been searching for an 05-08 A6 for about a month now and have found that the 4.2s are actually being listed for less than the 3.2s for some reason, demand? (I'm in northeast). This will be my 3rd Audi, looking to downgrade from a D3 A8. I'll be honest with you, I drove a 3.2 and it got up there pretty quick. Between the cars you listed, I'd buy the 4.2.... I'm just trying to find an A6 that's loaded so it will be comparable to my A8 I have now.

without any hesitation the.. 2008 4.2
people are buying up S6s on the cheap bc the over done stigma of V10s
and same thing with the 4.2 V8
go for it
u only save minimal MPG w the 3.2 .. not worth it
beat the dealer up on the price .. bc thats what they did to the past owner
offer them a bunch less... i bet u get it
