New tires
About to put on some new shoes on The Beast
265/35ZR20 Michelin Super Sport. Read it was super sticky and highly rated.
Different opinions?

If you have a designated set of winters or live in a warmer climate (I am in Missouri) then the Michelin Super's are a good choice!

Just had the same decision to make and decided to go the all-season route and went withe the Conti Extreme Contact DWS 265/35/20. Part of me wishes I went with the PSS summer tires but overall, the Conti's are some of the better all seasons I've driven.

Different "stock"s; my overlapping tire experiences
275/35-20 is used as the 20" stock size on all D3's except the S8. S8 was 265/35, though some S8's supposedly maybe came w/ 275s??--never confirmed.
The 265/35 is somewhat an "oddball" Audi fitment; a lot fewer choices than 275 fitment, which tends to mean more $ per tire. On some of the original OE fitments--at least the Yoko--supposedly the tire tread width was the same but the sidewall was simply cut down some. More generally, happens at times on two adjoining tire widths.
For OP, Super Sport is certainly a sound choice for a dedicated summer. Running them on my Mini S now since it has zero chance as FWD and pretty low to pavement it will get from mild SF Bay Area to snow. I ran PS2's on both my W12 and on the Mini before. PS2's preceded SuperSports. Super Sports supposed to be next generation for performance, somewhat longer wear, etc. BUT, if I did it again in summers on the W12, I would probably just buy Dunlop SportMaxx's again. Couldn't tell difference on D3 between PS2 and SportMaxx, other than SportMaxx a bit quieter. Both had same wear--20-25K miles. Since Dunlops are less $, and thus probably would do Dunlops next time again as a summer.
BUT THEN FURTHER, frankly I couldn't tell much difference to the Michelin AS+ all seasons when I ran those most of the year after the PS2's. AS+ was superseded by A/S3, which looks like a really nice premium tire and even by what Michelin promotes, approaches a summer. Since on last the generation, I was hard pressed to find that difference in everyday and spirited driving anyway, it nets to me probably to the A/S3 rather than a dedicated summer when I next buy new tires. I also got about 50% more wear out of the A/S+'s than the (summer) PS2's. I am back on SportMaxx's right now, which came with a quasi take off set of wheels I bought some time ago. I like them once again. I still run dedicated winters for ski season up in Tahoe, but an A/S gives me swing season coverage for Oct-Nov, and after mid March. We can still get Sierra snow in those months and they have chain checks, but A/S is usually enough in those months for me.
Last, here's a real life example of how 265's box you in some. Anything I mentioned tire wise you can get in the 275's, but you can't get the A/S3's in the 265 fitment, at least per the TireRack site as of now.
