Urgent need for a used 2001 tiptronic tranny in the Cincinnati area CODE EKD.
Car is a 2001 2.8 A6
Also, can you put a tranny with an EKD code in if you had a FAS?
providing they are both 2001 tiptronics.. Is the tranny code critical?

what is the current problem, is the car slipping in gear? if it is not slipping, the tranny is probably salvageable.
the biggest problem is the car hangs up between shifts or kind of goes in neutral between shifts then slams into gear. this is easily fixable, only time I ever had to replace a tranny was if it actually slips in gear.

Its blew up. Leaked all the fluid on the HWY.
Its toast. The car has almost 130k so im looking for an equivalent tranny to send to the shop and have them swap them out.

I am in Youngstown, so probably can't help, but I did see a 01 A6 being parted out on Craigs list last week in the Cinci/columbus area. I have been looking for another A6 for the past few weeks, If i find the listing again i will let you know.
