Default My first experience with Matt

Figured I would share one of my experiences with Matt, namely my first.

I was needing to change my control arms and asked for help. I was an ubernoob at this point (2.5 years ago) and had no idea what I was doing. This is when he was in the KC area.

Not only did Matt offer to help (see the very bottom of the thread) he got me involved with the KC audi club too. He was always willing to help and was a great guy. I looked up to him a lot, and even though I had not seen him in a year I thought about him on a regular basis. I will always think of him as my Audi mentor.

I know that you all know what I am talking about, but I figured I would share a good experience about a guy that we all know and love.

Thanks.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/midwest/msgs/3653.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/midwest/msgs/3653.phtml</a</li></ul>

Nice story. I wonder how many people have become Audi enthusiasts because of his influence.

Thanks. I am still in shock about this whole thing.

Default I've been a Audi fan since I started driving, but Matt made me a true enthusiast.

I drove an Audi 4000 in high school, and I now own a 1988 90 Quattro and a B5 S4 of my own. My friends have always said I'm Audi-obsessed, but Matt's instigation of Wednesbeerday gave me an outlet and a group of like-minded people with whom I could really relate.

He encouraged me to attend Quattrofest, which I certainly wouldn't have done otherwise. I initially felt honored when he offered to be my instructor, but that feeling grew exponentially as he taught me with such great skill. At the time I knew I was lucky to have him as my first instructor, but in retrospect the feeling of honor is immeasurably greater.

Six months ago I was a guy who had always loved Audis, but couldn't find an outlet. Matt gave me the community of people to explore this with, and instilled in me a love for the track which I would never have known without him.

Thank you, Matt.
