P&P should be possible for a 95.5-up, but I'm not sure it would be possible for the earlier cars
With the earlier cars, you have the same wiring challenges involved with retrofitting a Concert I or other late radios, Nav+ included - the radio wiring is very different.

Others have moved the CC head to the glove box, but I wanted everything in the stock spots...
Keeping stuff more or less in the stock spots minimizes wiring changes and also allows me to quickly swap it back to stock if necessary. I considered moving the CC head, but I probably mess with that more than anything else in the dash, so the more I thought about it it seemed like the last thing I wanted to move or conceal.

There are better systems, but my main reasons for doing Nav+ were stock look and always on..
Before going this route, I tried a lot of the portable systems, and also started building a carputer. The first double DIN housing I built was so I could add a motorized 7" touch screen for the carputer's nav and other functions, but then I got hold of a cheap Nav+ and decided it was good enough- the thing I need to know most often is where I am, and it's great for that

Is there a writeup somewhere on this? I'd like to put a Concert I in my 95...
but I've never seen a detailed writeup on what exactly needs to be swapped/rewired to accomodate the later head units.

Not that I've seen, I did mine when I got the car, before I started posting here..
I did not use the concert but the wiring is similar to the VW premium 4 and monsoon radio, I tried the concert and it worked fine but I could not get the newer wider radio tray so I settled for the VW radio which is a standard din size. the only thing I didn't get was RDS which the concert has
the terminal on both units are marked so that part was easy.. getting the wires out of the housing was the hard part, but if you have the tools that not bad either.. I even rewired the changer wire

Unlike the RNS-E, the Navi+ won't show you where you are unless you are connected to the readout
in the instrument cluster.
Yes on the LCD you can see icon of the car on a map. But there are no street names or details on the map. That only appears when connected to a CAN instrument cluster.
