When I look at dyno charts the data looks very similar.

Have a look at the gear ratios, and also bear in mind FWD is mnormally slower off the line due to less traction as the weight transfers to the rear axle during acceleration.

If you check rolling acceleration where the weight transfer has less effect you will see that they are more equal.
