Drive Select: feature or software bug?

There appears to be desired shift and cruise RPM points in the D/S mode and they don't seem to care what ADS mode you are in. I noticed that in Auto Mode, most things tend to be more towards comfort when in D mode and more towards Dynamic in S mode. Even the soundaktor switches on (it does not in comfort mode S)

I just went for a little test drive. I put the car in dynamic and brought it up to a constant speed on the highway. I then shifted from S to D, and it shifted up two gears in pretty rapid fashion. I then shifted back and forth between S and D, and every time, it shifted one gear lower and higher respectively. Unless the engine/throttle is switching out of dynamic (while set in dynamic) when shifting from S to D, then dynamic and sport are not the same?

Did this ever get figured out - are D and S the same ad far as engine and tranny shift mapping?

I am assuming this is a moot issue for those of us with manual transmissions?
I use Individual Mode where the engine is Dynamic and the suspension is Comfort.
Best.

- D on the shift lever is the same as Comfort or Auto in the MMI ADS settings and will override the Dynamic engine/transmission MMI setting.
- S on the shift lever is the same as Dynamic in the MMI ADS setting and will override the Comfort or Auto engine/transmission MMI setting.
- Other MMI ADS settings, i.e. steering, suspension, etc., are not affected by the shift lever.
All of the above is well documented.
