Default 200 miles no pedals

Love the ACC, its fantastic for long trips. I can go 200 miles without touching a pedal as it works flawlessly. Don't have lane departure. If you make long trips get it.

Thanks all! I went and drove a Q5 with ACC - it's pretty odd-feeling to me, but seems like it has its place. Given the positive response here, I'm on board

After trying the top-view camera on an A8, that moved the Drive Assistance package onto my have list. Oh well, I guess it's just money.

Thanks,
Richard

I believe the reason for the large gaps with ACC is due to the laws in Germany. In Germany it is required by law to maintain 50m between you and the car in front of you, caught driving any closer will result in a fine for you. So at highway speeds I believe this is the reason for the perceived large gaps between you and the car in front of you. I am sure Audi looks at this as a safety feature.

Hmmm, are you certain of that? 50m is a LONG gap - I'm fairly certain the Q5 I test-drove last weekend would close within 50m, but it was still a car-length or two further back than I would choose. This was with the stalk control toggled to minimum following distance and with ACC set to Dynamic in the MMI.

I am very certain of this unless they re-wote the laws since i left. I lived there for 15+ yrs.

I believe my A8L leaves ~3 car lengths at 70mph (have never really paid attention to it) and I don't have a problem with that. The problem I have is the other drivers who think they need to shorten my following distance.

ACC is awesome
Top view camera is awesome
Side assist is awesome
Lane keep assist is a bit aggressive and not predictable. If you are going to keep trying to intervene then just drive me home!

You should be able to adjust this in the MMI
