Mishar, are you still selling (or have inventory) on these caps? If so, how much? PM me if you prefer...

Thanks!

The Gruvenparts one is $94, they just changed their site pricing all the way down from $129 ea!

Not sure if they will still do GB since they are now running the special.

Ive stripped out 2 of these, and the last 1 they broke the whole oil housing trying to get the remnants of the plastic cap out. It cost me $1200 to replace that oil housing. total bullsh!t they made this part from plastic, look at any of the older vehicles, they ALL have metal covers not plastic. This was just a cost savings measure, they will sell alot more plastic version then if they just did it right the 1st time. C

What would be the reason to make these out of plastic other than cost? Since both would be aluminum I wouldn't imagine it would be any sort of galvanic corrosion. Maybe to prevent stripping the housing since it is cast onto the block and that would be a nightmare to fix?

Has anyone had an aluminum aftermarket cover on their filter for the 10k miles between changes yet? Any issues?

i had 1 for my old VR6, never had an issue. My benz has a metal version as well, no issue. I think you should put some oil, or at least anti seize on threads when you install and you should not have an issue.

they are plastic like everything else on the car, so its cheap to make and it breaks, causing you to visit your local audi parts dealer.
