That exhaust note is just sweet melody! Great review.

... and another review http://www.leftlanenews.com/new-car-...di/sq5/review/

Interesting comment about the suspension: "Moreover, the SQ5 receives a tightened suspension .... The tightened suspension is said to boast the same spring rates as the 30 mm-lowered Euro model, but our SQ5 retains the standard Q5's ride height ...."

OK, "tightened suspension" is subjective but "the same spring rates as the 30 mm-lowered Euro model"? Didn't Spijun show us part numbers that would refute that?

This review begs the question - how soon is Audi going to offer the 30mm lower euro-spec springs as an aftermarket option? That would essentially give you the euro-spec SQ5 given all the other suspension parts remain unchanged.

Not really an independent review but another nice video/audio clip of the SQ5 pulling hard - the fun starts at about 3' 10" into the clip

I have to make do with these vicariously until I can get mine fully broken in.

The reviewer's experience with cornering on the US spec SQ5 is disappointing... The suspension is compromised in order to qualify the vehicle as a light truck in the US.

Not happy with "easily overwhelmed by sharp cornering" and his comments about cornering being scary in this car.

I wonder if the Euro spec SQ5 is really much better... Cornering doesn't look impressive on that one either in videos that I've seen, including this one:

I'm not sure what people are expecting to get out of it as far as cornering but I knew it wasn't going to be anywhere near the S4 with sport diff.

Maybe I just managed my expectations better but I have no problem with the handling.

I'm thinking about buying an SQ5, but not sure about the handling. Not expecting it to corner like an S4 with a sport diff, but the question is how much worse the handling is on the SQ5. It seems quite bad based on this review. I drive on mountain roads often, so I'm concerned about this.

Too bad Audi USA doesn't import the awesome sporty Avants. Why only the allroad? I would much prefer one of sporty Avants to the SQ5. I really don't get why Americans strongly prefer SUVs to wagons...

Agreed. I'd take one for a ride first then. Growing up, my parents had Chevy Blazers and similar so I never expect any handling out of an SUV so I'm happy with the SQ5 and what it can do. That said I would like to lower it to Euro specs only for looks.
