Default acceleration rattle

I didn't notice the rattle until a friend told me when I drove off from his house the car sounded like metal ***** in a tin can. I got my wife to drive off from a standing start and yes there is a very noticeable "rattle". I hooked up VAG-COM and no faults. Any ideas?

Seriously-- this sounds like a possibility-- and it generates no codes. Once the cores disintegrate they can turn sideways and block the flow of exhaust gasses. It is not typically found by auto shops either--

Default yes, happened to me. I heard it at idle and then went away when warmed up.

couple of options for replacement, do a search under my name past couple of months.

Driver side is a piece of cake, pass side is a PIA. Dealer cost is around $1,000, aftermarket you should be under $300.
