Default EZ Pass doesn't work with QUATTRO Audi

I just purchased a NH EZ pass for my 2014 Audi A6 3.0 Quattro.

The pass doesn't work, so I went to a local EZ Pass service center.

There, I was informed that the internal EZ Pass won't work on Audi Quattro models because Audi uses some kind of screen on the windshield that blocks the signals.

They've replaced the internal windshield pass with an external pass that sits on my license frame. I haven't yet tried this to see if this one works better.

Has anyone else experienced such an odd behavior?

Thanks.

I have an EZ tag on my windshield and I don't have any issues.

I have a 2013 so unless they did something different on the 2014 windshield I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I have an EZ Pass equivalent here in Los Angeles and works just fine. I have it mounted right above the rear view mirror.

My IPASS (same system as far as I know) works fine also, even with the thicker windshield required for the HUD.

I have the EPass/SunPass sticker on my front windshield and it works perfectly.

In addition, my entire front windshield is tinted with LLumar AirBlue film. In theory, that would cause even more signal blockage than the windshield by itself.

+1 on the I-pass. I also think EZ pass is the same and I have never had issues with mine.

I forgot to mention that not only do I have my entire front windshield tinted, but I also put the EPass sticker on a clear plastic window "cling" so it is removable. It's not directly stuck to the window.

The EPass office said the sticker would not work that way, but they were wrong. It works just fine.

What kind of cling do you have it on? I love for it to be able to be switched between vehicles. I was told too that it wouldn't work unless fixed to the windshield directly.
