Cost of Dealership Oil Change
Interested in here what people are paying to have their oil changed at their Audi dealerships. I took my car into Momentum Audi in Houston today for the first time and was told that an oil change was $160.00. I have owned my 2007 A4 from new and swear I have never paid more than $80.00. I know labor rates at the dealership are high but I thought this was a little extreme.
At 80k miles of course they also wanted to do the timing belt at a cost of $1,900. Any idea what a indy shop would charge for the timing belt and water pump. Parts were quoted around $700 and labor at $1200.

Adam, $160 is certainly pushing it for an oil change...

My timing belt, water pump change at the Audi dealer was $1300. That included and oil change also. So your dealership is high. Either find another dealer or start asking around to find an independant mechanic.

Count yourself lucky
Went into Audi West London yesterday to look at a service for 3.0 TDI. Quoted £550 to change oil. oil filter and to stick it on the diagnostic machine but also tried to push changing the pollen filter for another £220.
Went to a VAG specialist and been quoted £280 almost £500 less

In the northeast at an independent shop, timing belt parts and labor is around $900.
DIY timing belt kits at europa parts go for around $300-400 depending on what optional equipment you get to give you an idea how how much parts cost on a retail level.

Personally i would never go to a dealership to get an oil change or any work now that my extended warrenty is over on my 2005 A4. I recommend you find a competant trustworthey independant garage that are familiar with German cars and then build a good relation with them.
I never pay more then $80 for an oil change, got my timing belt changed last year for $1200. The dealerships wiill always quote you with a rediculous amount!
