Default A4 performance issues...

Purchased a 2007 A4 2.0t Quattro last week and have done bit of aggressive driving to fully test the capabilities of this wonderful machine and have discovered a few things that I'm taking it back to the dealership to check out.

When accelerating from a dead stop to merge with traffic I noticed that the revs won't go above 4000 with my foot to the floor, it hovers at 4K for several seconds and then drops down to 3k.. yesterday I couldn't go any faster then 60 until I backed off the gas and reengaged.

Tested it agin tonight and it won't go any faster then 90 even with my foot to the floor..it accelerates nicely to that speed, albeit a bit loudly. any ideas what could be causing this...

I have also recently purchased a 2007 audi a4 2.0t and had similar issues. I am being told that I need to replace my coils and spark plugs. Another thing to check with this car is the timing belt and water pump.

Check whether the engine is fully up to running temperature.
Not sure of the B7s, but the ECU may limit your revs if the engine temp / oil temp is too low. It may actually doing you a favour and preventing you killing the motor.
