Aluminium, due to the fact it has so much "memory", is generally replaced, not repaired.
The A8 and R8 has considerably more use of aluminum than the A6. I suspect the Audi Authorized Aluminum Repair shops are more directed at aluminum frame and chassis repairs as found in the those models. Aluminum frame repairs require different machines, tools and expertise. While the C7 has more aluminum than the past, it's mostly (not all) replaceable panels with steel still used for most of the frame and chassis. From what I understand, these days, most good body shops can handle minor to moderate sheet aluminum body repairs and certainly replace panels and other parts as needed.

When there's damage to a fender made from aluminum, they generally replace it. If it were steel, it would be repaired.

Our '06 wagon has minor fender damage and nobody will even attempt to repair it including the shop in Ashland. It's made from aluminum.

(Aluminum Audi fender = $450. Steel Audi fender = $150 )

The other shop is Ira Collision in Danvers, MA. Still 45 miles away for me, and didn't have great reviews.
I wonder if Prime Collision Center in W. Roxbury, owned by the same parent as my dealer, Audi Westwood, is equipped to work on aluminum. I've been in there and there's nothing but luxury cars being worked on. I'll have to check - much closer to me if ever needed (hope not).

Prime is "Authorized", but not "Aluminum Authorized", for whatever that's worth. Only Hollis and Ira are authorized for aluminum out of MA, NH, VT and ME.

Yeah, the aluminum repair facilities are as rare as a nun in a bikini
