What's the standard whee/tire size on the 4.2?
I have GmBH 20s on my wife's 04 A8L. It's a 20x9 with 275/35/20 tire. Would this fit the Q7? I have no idea of the wheel offset on the Q7.

As far as I know, the standard wheel is 18", on the Premium model, the 19" is standard.
Standard:
18-Inch Wheels w/ 255/55 R18 All-Season Tires
Standard (Premium Model):
19-Inch Alloy Wheels w/ 265/50 R19 All-Season Tires
Optional:
20-Inch 5-Twin Spoke Cast Alloy Wheels w/ 275/45 R20 All-Season Tires
20-Inch 5-Twin Spoke Cast Alloy Wheels w/ 275/45 R20 High Performance Tires
19-Inch 7-Arm Cast Alloy Wheels w/ 265/50 R19 All-Season Tires (Standard on Premium)

Thank you. Maybe I'm pushing my luck here but...
do you know the offset? Or where to look for it? Obviously the current tire itself wont work for the Q7, but if the wheel will work I could always change tires.

I checked Tire Racks web site and there are NO All Season tires for SUV's in the 265/50/19 size that Audi says will be standard for the Premium model. Even if 1 company does make this size for Audi there won't be any options when it's time to replace them. If i get this car I'm getting 18" wheels.

Re: 19" wheels look like VW wheels we used to have on a golf ;)
Had this horrible problem with our first xc90 3 years ago and those we're 18" :! . Spent the first 6 months panicing about a puncture as some cars with punctures were reported as being off the road for weeks waiting on new conti rubber.
I've spoken to various people at audi and dealership and they say they will be ensure this is not a similar problem on this model release.
From other websites looks like conti will get first run at the 19 and 20" tyres (they also produce the components for the Air suspension). Michelin will definately have a 20" also, specific to the q7.
In for a penny in for a pound - 20" wheels look pretty sound.
