Default Yes.. BUT!

Not if your air box is setup correctly. Best seat of the pants and only upgrade worth doing is the hollowed out MAF.

If you plan on just driving around town and fooling around dont was the cash on the intake unless its for bling factor with your friends. It sucks in hot air which robs the HP in the long run and it doesnt work any better then a air box with a CAI setup. I know I have had plenty of different filter setups on my car. Akimoto and the Big Mouth to name a few. I also had an RXTB,S3 Silicon hose setup and a Self bored MAF. Mite I add I eventually took all this off and sold it. The only thing I kept was the MAF. I noticed very little change in performance. Then I went a head and sold the MAF. Now my car feels like a slug compared to pre-MAF removal.

Default I'm not sure why you feel this way...

My MAF, Big mouth, S3 kit, and XTB all made noticable differences individually...and together they make astonishing improvements compared to stock...

Default What "mods" did you have on your engine? Bone-stock?

Aftermarket cams?

Ported & polished heads?

Ported & polished intake?

Modified exhaust?

Bored out throttle body?

Aftermarket injectors?

I have all these, and to date, the intake I have on my car performs better than anything else I've tried!

Never once have I had an issue with hot air ingestion.

If you dont believe me, come on over for a test drive!

Default I believe you.. and I never stated the intake caused any problem..

However on long trips I felt a lose in power due to heat.

My mods included RXTB, S3 Hose kit, Self bored MAF and both the CAI kit for the air box and a cone setup. I also had a single 2.5 exhaust with a magnaflow muffler. I did not port or polish the injectors but everything above the heads was cleaned inside and out. No bigger injectors or aggressive cams.

None of this matters we are comparing a stock engine cone to air box. Even if we werent I think the air box is far better you just have to learn to utilize it. To each his own, so I added my 2 cents!

No need to drive your car you live to far away other wise I would have already been there your car is what I hoped to at least get mine to at some point but because of college I never made it that far.
