Fixing Fender..?
What do you meanI have to fix the fender too? It now has the 'lightweight fender' option.. :-)
In reality, I'm not too worried about the fenders for now. Many other more pressing things to get to.
But when it's time, I have a pair of 4k fenders. As far as I understand, the top section is the same. So I plan to cut the top part of a 4k fender out, and graft it to the top of the urq fender. I have a friend who can braze it all together so you can't ever tell they were separate bits. But it'll take him two days to do a fender..

Strut Tower Strength..
IF you look at the 'before' pictures, you can see the under structure of the strut tower. Even with all that structure gone on my car, the spring hadn't popped through the hood. So if your underneath is in better shape, you should be ok for a while.
FOr ANYONE that has a urq, I'd suggest fitting the 4k inner fenders. They don't quite fit perfectly, but they'll be a big improvement over having no inner fender.
Although I suppose...
If it hasn't started rusting yet, it probably won't (For those Californina cars!), and if it HAS started rusting, it's probably too late.. (For those in the salt belt world).

More than the 4000 should fit...
I think that the coupe and 4k and 4kq are all the same in the strut tower area. Aren't they?
I used 4kq bits, as I had access to a 'bent' 4kq body shell, that was in good shape, but still 'useless' as it had a big wave in the roof, the front doors wouldn't close, and the windshield doesn't fit any more.
However, the strut tops and inner fenders were in good shape. I went over with my friend Mr. Sawsall, and liberated what I needed..!

Coupe GT urq..
Mike Hopton installed Coupe GT bumpers and fenders when he 'restored' one of his urq's.
Something about 'frickin prices of the urq body panels' I heard.
Looks pretty much like a Coupe GT, except for the 5 bolt rims, and the tailpipe..
