I'm trying to get the rear brakes off of an '87 5000CST to replace the frozen up ones on my 200. But at the moment I'm running into problems since I can't get the darn things off. The torques-head bolts are rusted down. How would you suggest getting these un-seized? Heat it up? Spray? Any suggestions are welcome.

I would heat them up first and than in bad situation hammer in bigger torx socket.

The calipers are held on with hex-head bolts (you need a thin wrench to hold onto the hex head on the guide pins), and the carriers are held on the hub assembly with allen-head bolts. Usually the allens are veeeerrry difficult to break free - I had to use an allen key with a pipe around it for leverage to break the ones on my car free the first time (anti-siezed them after that). If you're going the heat route, oxy-acetaline is the way to go if you're not concerned about the wheel bearing. I've heard good things about PB Blaster....but can't find it here in Canada so no personal experience. Do you really need to take the carriers off the 5kt, though? Wouldn't the carriers on the 200 suffice?

be rale careful of the carrier nut. it is what the bolt for the caliper goes into. you break that and your buying a new caliper. i know from experience. also i use pb blaster best stuff ive run across for getting stuff bolts out. be careful as always if you use heat after a squirt of that boom instant fire.
