AM won't be an issue in the sedan...only the avant
FYI - your FM/AM antenna is built into your rear glass. See original link....and read on.
I'd love to see the oem subfin your a C5 sedan (other than the RS6).
Go for it!!!

TJ Re: AM. I noticed that AM reception seems worse with RNS-E than w/ Sym II
AM seems to have a "hollow" sound to it that I don't remember from the Sym II. Do these units differ somehow in that respect? Perhaps my antenna cable isn't seated properly, but it's not bad enough for me to pull the unit out the check ;-)

Mine seems to be about the same, however...
oddly enough WBZ AM 1030 does not show in the list of self-populating stations. I avhe is stored in memory, but when I wander off 1030 to another station, 1030 is not listed on the available stations. So much for the 50,000 watts of power on their antenna, eh??
Maybe you can come to the April 27th GTG in Waltham and we can compare the sound of your unit? At the very elast I can see your S6 up close! Are you Newton or Arlington...I cannot remember???

RNS-E vs. Symph II
Maybe this deserves its own thread, but I am on the fence whether to upgrade to the Symph II or all the wat to the RNS-E. I really can live just fine without the Nav, though it would be fun. I am more drawn to any increased functionality, particularly for selecting among XM stations using steering wheel controls. Does the S2 let one select a list of favorite sat stations, so you can cycle through them on the steering wheel?
Other useful features of the RNS-E besides the improved nav and the really sleek display?
I may just need another phone call with Ted for some counseling!

Was in Arlington, moved to Newton
I would love to come to a GTG, but in general weekday eves are a bit tough for me with work and trying to get home before my son goes to bed.

Your car has the Symphony II already, no?
You have the same car as me, and I'm pretty sure all 2002 A6s have the Sumphony II anyway.
Another killer feature of the RNS-E is its ability to play MP3s off of its two SD card slots. People have tested 2GB+ cards in it, so with two slots, that's a lot of tunes!

yes...but he's debating installing the Sym II (with SAT button) or RNS-E.
I have a sym II (with SAT) button that I am considering selling...or just putting up on ebay.
