Help with Torque Converter location
Hi guys, i am owning a C4 A6 model since i dont have any other platform i hence post my questions here.
Any of your guys could help me? I am trying to locate the Torque Converter of my C4 A6 2.6E (1995). I am trying to release the gearbox fluid from the torque converter since I heard that you would have to release that oil too when changing the ATF oil. I attach herewith the pics of my gearbox from bottom.
Could you guys help me?? Greatly appreciate this guys...
Thanks
Aron

Usually a torque converter that can be drained directly will have a drain plug located on the converter itself that's usually hidden behind an inspection plug or plate at the bottom of the transmission's bell housing--as opposed to the bottom of the front differential housing.
From what I gather researching the ZF 4HP18FLE (aka. CDU or 01K) transmission it does not appear to have a TC that is equipped with a drain plug and therefore cannot be drained directly.
The plug with the recessed internal hex head seen in pics #2 and #4 is most likely the gear oil drain plug for the front differential. The plug with the traditional hex head at the left in pic #4 is most likely the transmission pan's ATF fill plug.

Second. I'm gearing up to change my torque converter due to lock-up clutch code, and all the pics that I've seen from reman websites/pdf catalogs show no drain plug.
