Default Black plastic piece under bumper (name??)

Does anyone know what the name is of that black plastic piece that attaches under the front bumper? I am not referring to the belly pan, I am referring to what I would assume would be called a valance. Unfortunately I have tried to find "front valance" on this site and elsewhere on the net but I can't find it.

Mine is busted and I would REALLY like to order a new one but it's kind of hard to call the dealer and ask for "the black plastic thingy under the bumper".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have an extra one, if you're in the Philly area.

Default Re: Black plastic piece under bumper (name??)

I contact the dealer to get this piece and the parts guy referred to it as a Lower Chin Spoiler (part # 8D0-807-110-L-3FZ206B).

Whatever you call it, it's indeed the black plastic thing under the bumper and it is a pain to install by yourself.

If you haven't replaced yours yet and haven't experienced the sheer bliss of wrestling it into place, allow me to give you a few pointers I learned along the way.

1. Use zip ties to hold the corners to the bumper (there are small holes that line up near the wheel well) but leave the zip ties REALLY LOOSE since you will need room for play.

2. Obviously start by lining the spoiler clips up in the middle of the bumper and work your way to the edges, but I suggest working each side a quarter at a time to make sure that don't misalign one of the clips (happened to me twice and had to start over).

3. Forget the rivet gun for the final attachment. Take the extra few minutes and lift the car up enough to allow you to reach under the spoiler and insert 3/8" machine screws, lock washers and nuts. This way you don't have to drill out the rivets if you decide to remove the spoiler for some reason (like a new paint job which is just around the corner for me).

4. To avoid all this, make friends with someone that is willing to help you out with this so you can avoid steps 1 & 2.
