Default Engine Oil Dilema

Hi Guys, Got the stage 2 done for Engine Oil from my dealer. Drove more than 2000km but still didn't find any change in oil consumption. Dealer said that you need to keep topping up the Oil from time to time until you reach the service due date. 3 weeks back i added half liter oil to top up, sensor shows that oil is topped up to a little less than MAX. Today, i checked the oil level and it tells me "please Drain oil"
Do you think it's a sensor issue OR is it "Normal" (just like the dealer says every time i bring up the oil consumption issue) :@
is there a video or any instruction on how to drain Oil on my 2009 Audi A4 2.0T Q.

You are checking the oil through MMI on level ground and when the engine is warm? After letting the engine sit off for two minutes or so? The oil level gauge is showing you the min/max like a dipstick, equal to one quart. It sounds like you may have added too much oil. My dealer put in too much oil and I got the same warning as you. They took care of it the next day pretty quickly by siphoning some oil through the fill tube. Sorry, I don't know of a video on how to do this.

I recommend that you add a dipstick so you can manually check the oil in addition to what the car is telling you. All engines will use some oil. Some engines use more than others. I need to add a quart over 5K miles so far, but not all at once. Adding a little at a time and checking both the stick and the MMI (or other version) is helpful for me. Here's some info on the oil dipstick for your engine if you don't have one:

It sounds like you've over-filled it. That's more of a serious issue that needs to be addressed. You can end up with low oil pressure as a result.

Are you adding oil just for the sake of adding oil?

Sure, you could have a defective sensor.

Thinking more on this, there is a hood sensor that failed for another forum member, but the issue was with a low oil warning. The member kept adding oil and the low warning would not go away. I don't know if this applies to you since you didn't have a warning, added oil trying to hit the max line, and the overfill warning came on later. Again, I don't think this applies, but it is good info. You can check your hood sensor with a VAGCOM cable. There is a connection between the hood sensor and the oil level reading from what I've read.

Thanks a lot for the advice. it does seems like an oil over fill issue. but how come it indicated me after 3 weeks? before that the oil indication showed "max"
I will check the VAG-COM sensor as well.

Three weeks after you topped off you got the alarm? The way I read your post, it sounded like you got the alarm very soon after topping off, that day or the next day. No idea what would cause the overall oil level to rise over time other than some kind of contamination entering the oil? Let us know if you find out anything on this. Hopefully it was just an overfill that won't occur again.
