2013 Q7 Accident Air bags not deployed
#21
People can post pictures of mangled bodywork to try and prove a point. But look at the cabin on the inside. It's what matters the most to keep the occupants safe.
The exterior and body panels, as well as other key points of the chassis should absorb most of the damage.
I could care less how bad the exterior of a car looks after an accident. It's the cabin you want as in tact as possible to keep the occupants safe.
I've known many people that had serious accidents in Audis that ran right back to the Audi dealer to buy another car. They believed the car helped saved their life.
Sorry to be crass, but you're going to be sore and in pain after any serious car accident. Air bags deploying improperly can actually kill you if they go off at the wrong time. Car manufactures spend hundreds of millions of dollars to make cars safe. Had that accident happened 30 years ago, you and your family may very we'll be dead.
Every car accident is a unique experience and you can never make 2 scenarios exactly the same.
I'm all for making people responsible for design flaws. But we tend to want to hire a lawyer and make somebody responsible for everything. Even random accidents where the car did it's job.
If you look up statistics from the insurance institute, you'll see that Audi has an incredibly low fatality rate in car accidents.
