Hesitates when warm

Hesitates when warm
Okay, this is a strange one:
When the temperature is above 40 degrees or so, and the engine is fully warmed up, I start having a problem with hesitation.
When I stop for a stop sign, or traffic light, once I start moving again, the car bucks and sputters like it's out of gas...until it hit about 2200 RPM in second gear (but not first.) Then the power returns to normal. It's a slow crawl to 15MPH (much to the chagrin of people behind me.)
If I let the engine cool for about 5 minutes, it will be okay for a few minutes. It's getting warmer out now and I am noticing it more so even the six mile ride home is becoming a problem.
The check engine light has not come on.
Any advice is appreciated!

mine does that too! It does it year round though, not just when warm. I've had it to a few mechanics who are stumped. My next stop is a german mechanic, but its funds permiting at this time. It drops in RPM on the tach each time it happens, and there appears to be no patern, other than slowing or stopping seems to triger it. I have a 92 CS100, and have driven it with this problem for 2 years now. If you learn anything, let me know, and I'll do the same.

I'm experiencing a very similar issue. I know this thread has need dead forever, but I'm giving it a go here before starting a new one.
1995 A6 Quattro OBD-I
New coils, plugs/wires and vacuum lines.
I've unplugged the MAF and no change in operation.
At the very least I suppose this is a good bump.
