With a VIN the dealer should be able to provide the code...some will charge you though.

Default Do you have the original factory radio book with your manuals???

the card with the 4-digit code is in that book. If you do not ahve the code in that book...well, as Dave Lee just said, you'll have to go to the dealer, but they'll charge you probably an our labor to pull it for you.

Some have said in the past that is is printed on service tickets (in case the tech needs it for doing work on the car) but I have yet to see one that has that printed.

Good luck!!!

Default Look in your spare tire well...

there should be a computer printed label stuck on the side...in large dot matrix type is the 4 digit code..

provided no one took it off.

Default When will this myth die? There is no factory radio code sticker in the trunk.

The one and only code is printed or written in the radio manual on a tear away card.

The build sticker with the option codes is in the trunk and it's a duplicate of the one in the warranty book. None of those codes is the radio code.

Some dealers have written the code in the spare well on their own (mine did), but it didn't leave the factory that way.

Have you ever actually seen this sticker with your own eyes?

As Boston wrote, sometimes the code will appear on a service tag/receipt. I also have that on at least one of my work orders, as well as it being in the technician's notes since he hooked it up to the VAG machine -- he didn't think to look in the trunk.
