Here's my situation -- I've got a 2004 Audi A6 3.0 that has 210,000 miles. After some continous power steeting fluid leaking and hoping it was a simple fix, I got the word that I need a new steering rack -- which will cost at least $900 (that's what my guy said). It also needs and alignment and tie rod. It seems like I'm dropping $300 here $600 there on a regular basis and put 2 new tires on it a few months ago. So I'm thinking of taking of pulling the plug on it. What's the best way for me to get the most money out of it. I won't be buying new car so trade-in is not an option (plus I've been unemployed for 8 months). So what would you do and what do you think it's worth? Thanks!

Can you handle any repairs? If I were you, I'd buy used steering rack and aftermarket tie-rods, do all the work myself and get it aligned outside.

You're welcome. Kelly blue book or similar is your best bet.
