3.2 rebuild kit availability
Does anybody know where I could find a rebuild kit (piston rings, rod and main bearings) other than the dealer? The dealer prices are prohibitive at $105 for each set of piston rings.
I've searched a lot but came up empty handed.
If anybody has part numbers, that would be equally helpful.
Thank you!

Well, as a prepared audi owner, I have enough engine parts in my garage for a spare engine so I was thinking of turning those components into a nicely rebuilt engine in my spare time (which never comes - lol).
I managed to figure out some part numbers but I'm not sure of them. All prices for bearings and thrust washers are pretty reasonable until you get to piston rings. More than $100 / piston is just too much.
But the 3.2 in the car (the one that has the piston slap when cold) seems to be running great (very unexpected). Knocks slightly for a couple minutes on a cold start-up but runs good, mileage is good, oil stays nice and clean so I'm leaving it alone until something gets worse.
