tis true
but this is the way I did it this time around. I could have loosened it a notch before removing the assembly, regardless, this method works just as easy, one hand on T-handle, one hand on wrench, gotta love counter-force.

yes, especially "free" counter-force provided by the car's weight rather than "my" energy;-)
used to provide it. As my dad used to say; "work smart instead of hard." And always invite gravity over to help work with you. He's always available, never calls in sick, free and abundant.

you are such a pro....but, once you put that slotted nut on what the hell did you need the rope for?
I am confused now....today your explanation sounded better but now with pics i am confused. Couldn't you just slide the strut in its place with slotted nut on...bolt it to the knuckle, lower the car down and then replace slotted nut with special nut provided??

I couldn't get the strut into the hub without an ample amount of pressure, i.e jack
The usual way I do it, is to let the strut hang/suspend from the body but I couldn't because there was no way to hang the strut. So the rope allowed the strut to hang enough for me to line it in place and stay there while I jacked the hub up and placed the a bolt in. See like here:

I couldn't get with my two hands these two together. I needed more pressure/power/etc. The only way I know to do that is the way I described above. See like I told you on the phone earlier, maybe the strut bolt plate things that go over the hub, maybe I bent those in on the vice or something. Regardless, without forcing the two pieces together they would not go together. Make sense now?
