Shuddering like it's out of gear/low rpms
ok... the car sputters kinda like when you put a manual transmission in 4th when it should be in 2nd or 3rd
only codes are P0304 and P0305
i changed out the coil in cylinder#4 but i still get the P0304 code..... my darn vag-com doesn't work, so i haven't been able to play around with "musical coils" to see if that changes anything
in the morning or after the car sits for awhile, the CEL will blink for about 10secs until i either rev it up or start moving down the street
i looked into the ECU plastic arena, it was very dry and clean
the sparkplugs are new (installed them last yr)... now cylinder bay #5 does have an oil leak within the chamber, so i dried/wicked out the oil (looks like the black ring/seal within the cylinder has been gouged by a screw driver, it's bent bad at one section)
where's this power output stage (POS) that some have mentioned???
what would a loose/broken engine mount symptoms be like??
i may have to take it into the $tealer, as i fear of worsening the condition..... i really don't want too because i was about to trade the A8 in for an '04 D3..... ahhhhhH!!!!!!

Symptoms of a bad/going bad MAF?
That's what it was for me. Rough idle/hesitating idle, and shuddering upon initial throttle tap when accelerating from a standstill. I'm still amazed how integrated the MAF is in all the components of this car!

well, what i found after replacing mine with a remanufactured one from ECS is that the MAF that is
purchased actually consists of two pieces- the housing and the actual sensor which come in one assembled piece for ~$180 shipped. However, if you're gonna try to do something on the cheap, there was a post a while back about a company that just sold the sensor portion for like $65 or so (you'll have to do the searching, sorry...). If you went this route, you'd need a security torx bit (don't know what size per se) to undo the sensor and replace it. This would probably be the cheapest route to take and it would definately be what i would do if i were to need another MAF.

I might have one
However, I don't think it's your MAF. You need to vag-com the car and see what misfires you are getting on which cylinders after you clear the codes.
The power output stages are ontop of the RH fender once you lift the cover up that's just behind the air box.
I think I have a spare MAF for a pre facelift car that I could sell you.
