2006 A6 fuel gauge problem
I brought my 06 A6 3.2 in for a fuel gauge problem on Friday. The car would go from full tank to zero. They replaced the harness since it was a known problem with our cars and it did not fix the problem. well at least I got a loaner out of the deal. The warranty is up in 1,000 miles. Is there anything that I should have them do b4 it is up? I really should look into an extended warranty.

Check my TSB thread with Dr. Cold and you will see that there is a TSB on the fuel gauge seeting forth the repair procedure. Here is the link to the thread with the TSB library https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho....php?t=2765704
and here is the link to the TSB library itself http://www.uberlame.com/a6_tsb/Audi%...TSB%20List.htm

Ya what Kevin said...
I had a similar issue where the fuel gauge wouldn't show proper level after fill up and they just updated the software and that fixed it for me.

make sure they check the fuel sending units... as they may be bad as well... had mine replaced since software alone did not fix the problem... same problem. fuel gauge going to 0 or half when it was full... weird stuff... made me 2nd guess myself a couple times... "... did i or did i not get gas yesterday...." hehe

It was on fact the sending units. First they replaced a harness that was in the TSB but that did not work so they had to replace the sending units. Thanks for your help guys.
